Sorry…still…

I know I’ve completely abandoned my blog but I just don’t have as much time as I used to. My baby is now 3 months, mashallah and she keeps me very busy. Aside from that, I recently resigned from my job and am doing the stay-at-home-mom thing which also keeps me very busy. Insha’allah I hope to get back to blogging soon. I hope everyone is well.

Sorry I haven’t been posting much. Alhamdulillah, we recently found out I’m pregnant. I’ve been sick and if not sick then I’ve been tired. I plan to start reposting sets soon, insha’allah, I just haven’t had the motivation.

BTW, if anyone in the US or Canada knows of some great places to get fashionable but modest maternity clothing I’m all ears.

My First “Bad Order” in a Long Time

So, you guys remember I was all excited about the abaya I ordered from 2hijab, right? If not, see this post. I finally received it a couple of weeks ago and it was HORRENDOUS. First off all, the color was completely different from the one in the photo. I imagined fuschia-because that’s what color it said on the site. I don’t even know the name for the color I received. The second thing is the cut. Again, it looked nothing like it did in the picture. In all honesty it looked like a house dress. The kind I see worn by older ladies. Lastly, the material. I didn’t like it at all. Somehow I imagined a different kind of material that would make it stand up better. Since the material is flimsy and light the dress just hangs off my frame like a sack. Right now it’s sitting in a bag on my closet floor. I don’t even know anyone who would want it. Here’s the best photo I could get of it with the lighting in my living room.

Where oh where could that abaya be?

Remember a while ago I ordered this abaya from 2hijab? Some of you wanted feedback about the material and how I liked it. I wish I could tell you. It has been over a month and I have yet to receive it. I sent 2hijab’s customer service an email. They apologized profusely and said they would send it express. So, here I am- almost two weeks later- and still no abaya. The shipping service they use has the worst tracking system I’ve ever seen. For the past week it’s been “at a United States facility.” WTH? Maybe I’m spoiled by Shukr and their fast shipping. Maybe it’s just me. Or maybe this is the last time I order something from 2hijab.

I hope summer’s not over before I receive the abaya. *sigh*
